Bridge-Mounted Dual Drive

Used in industrial, municipal, and mining clarifiers and thickeners.

Used in blast furnace scrubber recyclers, BOP thickeners, hot strip mill recyclers, scrubber recyclers, water recyclers, coal fines tailings thickeners, and paste thickeners.

The DBS Bridge-Mounted Drive is a low-speed, high-torque, totally enclosed gear drive with positive overload protection. The XS-Series and XD-Series drive units are specifically designed for solid contact clarifiers with a full-span bridge and a drive shaft. The drive unit has a central output shaft to drive the rakes, and it is supported by a bridge completely spanning the tank. It is typically used on tank sizes from 3 m to 30 m in diameter.

The DBS Bridge-Mounded Dual Drive has two concentric output shaft drives: the rake drive and the turbine drive. The rake drive section has a rotating flange hub with attachment points for the output shaft. The gear drive is low-speed, high-torque, and totally enclosed. It is also designed with positive overload protection. The turbine drive section is a heavy-duty, totally enclosed gear drive that runs at a higher speed. A variable speed turbine drive is standard. The Bridge-Mounted Dual Drive is supported by a bridge that extends across the length of the tank. It is typically used on tank sizes from 3m to 30 m in diameter.

The main gear and pinion are made from forged alloy steel designed for 20 years of life (calculated per AGMA 2001-D04). The precision, four-point-contact main bearing comes with a 10-year warranty. Each unit is designed for minimum maintenance with permanently lubricated rake intermediate gearbox and dry well lubrication on turbine output.

An accurate torque gauge is integrated into every unit, or any units desired. This model also includes alarm and cutoff switches and maximum torque limiting via shear pin or pressure relief valve.

Bridge-Mounted Dual Drives are commonly used in the mineral processing, power, and pulp and paper industries.
